Looks like a box of hand grenades Those tortoise can get pretty LARGE and need a lot of space. We had some sort of tortoise when I was a kid and I would like to have one now. But I do not really have the space to let one roam, so I will have to pass. But I would imagine that any local reptile suppliers would be glad to take/buy those little guys off your hands.

They really don't need much room. They are surprisingly(to me) fast and alert.

I had one chase me around it's yard til I fed it a banana...then it let me be.
Here, they can just live in a small yard. The climate is correct, they go dormant in winter.
I think SD might be a little cool for them...I could be wrong.

Do you have any interest by chance gregg? These are two separate hatchings one in my backyard and some incubated. I have dark and light shell colored mom is about 80 pounds . keep it in a tank it will slow it down. But yeah they do perfect in grassy yards

Careful jesus, your pit bull is sweet and loving, but because of its breed and the general stigma, it might rip an 80 pound tortoise to shreds

These are the third largest species oftortoise on the planet and the males can get up to well over 100 pounds. Here is a vid of a good sized one being fed.
